Privacy Policy

Old Cedar Press is a service of SMCI Media LLC, a Florida limited liability company.
The short version: this is a reading site. There is nothing to fill in, no account to create and nothing to buy, so we collect no personal information from you at all beyond the ordinary server logs described below.
What we do not do
Most of this policy is a list of things that do not happen here, and it is more useful to be specific than vague:
- We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
- We do not run advertising, ad pixels or third-party trackers.
- We do not build a profile of you or follow you across other websites.
- We do not set cookies for tracking.
- There are no forms, no accounts and no payments on this site.
Server logs
This site is delivered by Cloudflare, which processes each request in order to serve the page and to protect against attack and abuse. That involves technical data such as your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested and your browser's user agent string. This is ordinary infrastructure logging and it is not used to identify you.
Measuring which pages get read
We count page views so we know which pages people find useful. The counting is first-party, it is not shared with an advertising network, and it is not used to identify you personally.
Services we rely on
Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site. Google Workspace carries our email.
Links to other sites
Some pages link out to other companies. Once you follow a link you are on their site and their privacy policy applies, not this one.
How long we keep things
Infrastructure logs are held on short retention by our hosting provider. There is nothing else to keep.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and say what you want done. We do not charge for this.
Security and breach notification
We limit who can reach whatever we hold and protect it with the security controls available to us. If a security incident affects personal information, we follow the notification requirements of Florida Statutes section 501.171, including notifying affected individuals within the time the statute allows.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date at the top.
